OWA is an international charity founded in the United Kingdom in 2012 with a vision to eradicate poverty and alleviate the sufferings of the poor and needy across Africa, Asia, and the globe in general. To achieve this, we initially partnered with churches across Nigeria, Ghana, Niger, Burundi, and Uganda. We have since grown, expanded, and extended our interventions in other countries across the globe.
Overtime OWA has partnered with other local NGOs, organisations and religious organisations and adopted the rights-based approach in development to execute projects in thematic areas such as women’s empowerment education, health, training and awareness, disaster relief among others to fight poverty, unlock potentials and achieve shared prosperity.
In the following years, we have also aligned our thematic areas with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to lift people out of poverty and economically empower them to make informed choices about their lives and in turn, lift others around them out of poverty.
Year 2020 is when we concentrate on five key areas.
